Director of Quality

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Establish and attain Quality performance goals and improvement objectives for the company
  • Responsible for generating, monitoring, and reporting site-specific quality metrics to the company executive team, as well as the customer
  • Lead a team of quality personnel and specialists at the company
  • Responsible for staffing and talent management, learning and development, and performance management for direct reports
  • Ensure compliance with customer requirements, regulatory agency, government regulations, contract specifications, and company policies/procedures
  • Drive continuous product and process Quality improvements across the company, including Quality engagement with the customer and suppliers
  • Effectively represent the company at customer, regulatory agency, and internal management meetings
  • Assure that all product and process quality deficiencies are satisfactorily resolved through application of the Root Cause Corrective Action process
  • Establish and execute quality improvement plans for systemic product and process defects
  • Interface with customer and suppliers for production non-conforming product control and disposition processes
  • Interface with the Customer Quality representatives, providing support and responsiveness to customer requirements flow down, quality initiatives, product-related problem resolution, reporting and review presentations
  • Provide Quality support for production readiness, and product support
  • Provide on-going support to supplier containment and development initiatives
  • Provide Quality support for product transitions. Implement product and process improvements/ controls to assure sustained product quality results at the completion of the transitions
  • Represent the Company during Final Aircraft Acceptance Activities
  • Ensure all documentation and acceptance inspection of aircraft delivery are in full compliance with contractual and regulatory requirements
  • Close cooperation with customers, manufacturers and aviation authorities to ensure smooth and on time delivery of aircraft
  • Liaise with concerned parties during all phases of aircraft acceptance and delivery
  • Suggest and debate alternative methods and procedures in solving problems and meeting changing customer needs
  • Cooperate with other top management personnel in formulating and establishing company policies, operating procedures, and goals
  • Review technical problems and procedures of departments and recommend solutions to problems or changes in procedures
  • Visit and confer with representatives of material and component vendors to obtain information related to supply quality, capacity of vendor to meet orders, and vendor quality standards
  • Promote teamwork between quality, manufacturing and engineering departments, including suppliers, in the development of continuous quality improvement
  • Ensure Quality Assurance function and Aircraft Acceptance function are compliant with and maintain control of budgeted man-hours and contractual requirements
  • Provide acceptance/rejection of aircraft and program components during final stages of Final Assembly and Delivery

Requirements:

  • Bachelor level degree in an appropriate discipline
  • Minimum of ten (10) years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Minimum of five (5) years personnel management experience
  • Must have a working knowledge of Federal Aviation Administration regulations and requirements, European Aviation Safety requirements, ISO 9001 / AS9100 and customer airworthiness requirements
